Overview
Experience the Best of Bohemian–Saxon Switzerland in One Winter Day
Join our best-selling Winter Tour and discover the two most iconic highlights of the national parks — the Bastei Bridge and the Pravčická Gate or Tisa Rocks — comfortably and without the crowds.
We pick you up directly at your hotel or Airbnb in Prague. Enjoy a smooth ride in our comfortable vehicle with complimentary snacks and informative commentary from your guide.
Your first stop is the legendary Bastei Bridge, offering breathtaking views of the Elbe River Canyon and the sandstone formations surrounding it. This easy scenic walk also includes the ruins of Felsenburg Neurathen, a medieval rock fortress.
Next, we cross into the Czech side of the park for a 2 km panoramic hike to the stunning Pravčická Gate — the largest natural sandstone arch in Europe and the symbol of the region.
After the hike, relax over a delicious à la carte lunch in a traditional Czech restaurant (vegetarian options available), before returning comfortably to Prague with unforgettable memories.
Why Switzerland?
No geo-political connection!
The term was adopted from the 18th century Swiss artists who found the region reminiscent of Switzerland.
What is Bohemia and Saxony?
Bohemia is a Latin and English term for 'Czech'.
Saxony is a German state, neighbouring to the North and West Bohemia.
How far from Prague/Dresden is it?
The initial transport to the National Park takes 1:40hrs from PRG and 0:45hrs from DRE.
The journey is very picturesque and informative!
My child is under 6 years old. Can he still participate?
The tours are not recommended for children under 6 years of age. There are plenty of stairs on Fantasy tour and on Hiking tour the hike to the gate might be too challenging for the child.
If you still want to bring your child in, please contact us so we can figure out the best tour for you and also make the appropriate arrangements and price calculation (based on the age of the child).
What do I need for the trip?
- We highly recommend hiking / sport shoes
- You must have PASSPORT
