Overview
Discover the Fantasy Highlights of Bohemian & Saxon Switzerland – Perfect for Families
Enjoy a magical full-day experience visiting the Bastei Bridge, Pravčická Gate, and the Tisa Rocks — three iconic sites known for their fairytale atmosphere and famous film locations. This is one of our top family tours, ideal for guests of all ages.
We pick you up directly at your hotel or Airbnb in Dresden and take you on a comfortable ride with complimentary snacks and engaging commentary from your guide.
Your adventure begins in Saxon Switzerland at the legendary Bastei Bridge, offering breathtaking views of the Elbe River Canyon and the dramatic sandstone formations surrounding it.
Next, we cross into the Czech part of the national park for a 2 km panoramic hike to the world-famous Pravčická Gate, the largest natural sandstone arch in Europe and the symbol of Bohemian Switzerland. Its majestic shape and dramatic setting make it one of the most photogenic locations in Central Europe.
A hearty local-style lunch with a drink of your choice follows (vegetarian options available).
In the afternoon, we explore the enchanting Tisa Rocks — the sandstone labyrinth known from The Chronicles of Narnia. Unlike the busy tourist sites in Europe, this area remains wonderfully uncrowded. The walk is easy and playful, making it ideal for families with children who love the winding passages and fantasy atmosphere. Due to stairs and narrow sections, the tour is not suitable for wheelchairs or similar equipment.
After this unforgettable day, we return you comfortably back to Dresden.
Why Switzerland?
No geo-political connection!
The term was adopted from the 18th century Swiss artists who found the region reminiscent of Switzerland.
What is Bohemia and Saxony?
Bohemia is a Latin and English term for 'Czech'.
Saxony is a German state, neighbouring to the North and West Bohemia.
How far from Prague/Dresden is it?
The initial transport to the National Park takes 1:40hrs from PRG and 0:45hrs from DRE.
The journey is very picturesque and informative!
My child is under 6 years old. Can he still participate?
The tours are not recommended for children under 6 years of age. There are plenty of stairs on Fantasy tour and on Hiking tour the hike to the gate might be too challenging for the child.
If you still want to bring your child in, please contact us so we can figure out the best tour for you and also make the appropriate arrangements and price calculation (based on the age of the child).
What do I need for the trip?
- We highly recommend hiking / sport shoes
- You must have PASSPORT
